Dr Eli Goldratt introduced in The Goal a simple 6 station simulation of a balanced line using dice and counters. The lessons to be learnt from this are substantial. This balanced line dice simulator is an animated online simulation in an excel spreadsheet that allows you to watch the progress over a period of 30 runs.

The file is read-only, please press “read only” if requested.

Some people report that they get an error message “macro security too high.” To change this go to Tools, Options, Security, and then bottom right-hand corner Marco Security and set to low, this will allow the macro to run. Don’t forget to set it back again when your have finished.

You may have to close Excel and download again in order for the changes to take effect.
